Tool Test Information

There are two tools available for beta testing by the TWG. They are the Transform Tool and the Validate Tool. To report a bug or request an improvement, please go to https://pds-jira.jpl.nasa.gov/projects/SW/issues. To submit new test case(s) or update of existing test case(s) for future regression testing, please email emily.s.law@jpl.nasa.gov.

Transform Tool

This version of the Transform Tool (1.6.1) was built a month or two ago to address three issues that resulted from targeted testing by the Geosciences Node. Although we have another feature we are working on for Build 8b, it is not quite ready yet so we decided to use this version for the beta testing. This version addresses the following issues (issue details are available in this .csv file):

  • PDS-532 – Fixed table transformations using the -a flag option.
  • PDS-533 – Fixed support for groups when doing PDS3 to PDS4 label transformations.
  • PDS-534 – Fixed setting of offsets for PDS3 to PDS4 label transformations and vice versa.

The TAR/GZIP and ZIP packages are available for download and include the Installation and Operation documents within the package:

Validate Tool

This version of the Validate Tool (1.13.0-dev) was built from the latest source code and includes all of the new features and corrections planned for the Build 8b release. This version addresses the following issues (issue details are available in this .csv file):

  • PDS-516 – Updated how the tool generates the report in order to support large validation runs.
  • PDS-522 – Updated to suppress logging messages from the core library as they should be propagated up to the report.
  • PDS-524 – Fixed an issue where a BufferUnderflowException was being thrown.
  • PDS-526 – Improved support for Catalog files.
  • PDS-531 – Fixed to properly do field format precision checking of real values with exponential notation.
  • PDS-537 – Fixed to properly do field format specifier checking of large integer values.
  • PDS-538 – Fixed to not flag readme_*.txt files as errors during PDS4 bundle rule validation.
  • PDS-542 – Added a -D, –no-data-check flag option to disable content validation.
  • PDS-543 – Added support for Array content validation.
