Telecon Discussions:
1. SCR status:
- SCR3-1127: Pointer/Object Ambiguity in the Standards Reference
WG: R. Joyner (lead), M. Cayanan, L. Huber, S. Hughes, T. King, A. Raugh
- Vote results? (GEO and SBN yet to vote.)
- Issue of how this applies to combined detached labels. Anne and Todd both agree that the important thing is that the pointers (as opposed to the object namrs) be unique. Anne is more troubled by the table pointers in Susie's example than in the explicit file objects. Susie reiterated that she's not opposing the SCR but seeking input on how to advise team in ongoing design review. Consensus is that whether or not it's critical, uniqueness is a good goal and that she should recommend they change. It was acknowledged that there may be some unintended consequences of this change.
- GEO: Yes to approve, no MC review
- SBN: Yes to approve, yes on MC vote
- SCR is now TG_APPROVED. E. Rye to update status and inform MC.
- SCR3-1145: PSDD Filename Length Clean-Up
WG: S. Slavney (lead), M. Gordon, R. Joyner, E. Rye
- Version 4 of SCR posted online on 07/15/09 and announced. (DATA_SET_LOCAL_ID removed.)

- Having values in the PSDD is better for PDS and its customers than is a waiver to the mission, in which non-compliant, undefined terms are used.
- Instrument team have been good players on this, trying to get approval, reprocessing to produce uniform approved products.
- Artificial shortening of values reduced clarity.
- Time is of essence; every reprocessing driven by delay in approval costs IMG node big bucks for storage of obsoleted data.
- Going to try for 19 length and full "MITIGATION", with accepting 12 and "MIT" (or "MTG" or "MTT") in back pocket as lien.
- Want a vote ASAP!
2. Further Issues:
- None
Next telecon scheduled for 2009-08-26.
